I'm lovin fleece so the next few posts maybe, just maybe "all things fleecy).  Please forgive the pic quality. This was a "selfie" and you're looking at a fleece blanket for my toddler nephew

A Saturday Score: SEW Thankful

Lookie! I was able to snag some insane deals at Hancock's and JoAnn's over the Thanksgiving weekend: All things fleecy! You may see I got some fleece that looks like it's for kiddos...well, it is! I've been wanting to sew for my 22 month nephew and this fleece gives me a reason and an excuse! Check it out:

Wishing everyone in the US a Happy Thanksgiving. We all have so much to be thankful for!

Sew thankful to be able to get a little sewing in! Went to a sewing meet up a few days ago. We had a great time sewing fleece blankets which were donated to a local shelter. It was indeed a FUN-WAY to go!

New review added to our BOOK REVIEW Tab!

Wanna try before you buy?

Nothing new. If you're unsure about a sewing or crafting book and amazon doesn't provide any reviews or enough reviews, feedback, etc., go to your local library and check it out. I do this all of the time.

I even renew and if it's on the last renewal, I'll see if it's on a wait or hold list and if not, I'll get it again!

That way, if the book/DVD isn't a fit or doesn't flow for me, I can return in and I haven't wasted any money.

It's supposed to be...

Say what?! It's suppose to be my bloga (or blogo) versary month! It all started in October 2008 (never mind what my profile says..the correct start year is 2008).

Just hadn't been in a celebrating mood-also month a dear loved one passed last year and trying to study.

As always, I still come to thank each of you for hanging in there with me (my long time blogging BFF's) and everyone. Thank you sew much!

First set of NYC pics

From last weekend (sorry for delay-playing catch up)!

We're on Periscope!

I posted it on my You Tube channel. That was/is the best way for me to get it on the blog:

This was my first one--testing the waters. :-)

Pending book review

Greetings! As soon as Amazon approves my book review, I'll be posting it very soon. Here's a sneak peek of the book:

Just couldn't help it

Got back to receiving text messages from Hancock's. They're still having that anniversary sale PLUS extra goodies for those in a certain age group. :-). I did OK. Everything came to about $18.00. Besides the 3 patterns, I got elastic for knits, Velcro, and no roll elastic!

National Sewing Month: Chugging along!

OK friends. Sewed a little last week, made a casing for a muslin skirt today & also used some kids jeans and upcycled them into a purse.

Used some of the legs to create the straps. Next time, I'll either sew it by hand OR I need a thicker needle.

Better get your fabric and sew shopping on!

HOWDY! Hancock's started their 58 ANNIVERSARY sale this week-running for 2 weeks. That's where I grabbed some $3.97 a yard fleece (cashier told me it gets cheaper every January).

I re-signed up for text messaging as well.

I went to JoAnns on break Thursday first. They had a fleece sale $5.99 a yard (normally $9.99/yard), but went to Hancock's after work and found out they had an even better sale.

The fuchsia color is from JoAnn's, the other bag is from Hancock's

BTW: Hancock's texted this morning-they're taking an additional 20% off everything this weekend.!

September is National Sewing Month!

Hope everyone is well! A hearty welcome to new members! September is National Sewing Month. This is the logo that they are promoting. We're encouraging any sewing so hopefully this will inspire us all to get some sewing in!

Sew much to say--SEW little time!

Hello lovely ladies (and gents): This past weekend, I had the pleasure to attend the Needles and Fashion "Sew Social" hosted by the founder of N&F Jenese Johnson (awesome lady) and her hostess Tasha H.

They both have awesome blogs: Jenese is at Needles and Fashion and Tasha's blog: The Tale Tell Tasha.

These ladies are so genuinely kind, generous with the knowledge. They freely gave us patterns, free fabric, food. The fellowship and meeting like-minded people was priceless.

Ladies came from all over the East Coast: Richmond, Philly, Delaware, and more!

Anyway, I could go on and on, but wanted to share a few general pics. I HIGHLY recommend this event if you're anywhere in the Tri-States or the DMV next year! :-)

Wannasew's on Pinterest!

I've been posting like crazy today! Trying to catch up and do what I can when I can!

We've been on Pinterest for a few months and I told myself I'd NEVER do it.

At first, I had the widget on my phone, I just placed it on the blog (see right column). Lesson learned: Never say never!

Trying to promote sewing

I'm a 4-H volunteer. 4-H is a part of Cooperative Extension. Cooperative Extension usually falls under a state university. Yesterday was the annual Arlington County Fair.

I was able to bring my machine and do a little sewing demo. My machine tote worked perfectly! The FREE arm (corrected) worked like a charm! It really came in handy my older machine doesn't have a this feature
