The day after the NYC trip, I had a sewing class with the same person
that organized the trip! Full weekend indeed. I did my FIRST: zipper,
reversible bag, and first time using any type of interfacing. :-).
My zipper foot.
Pinned zipper, lining (interfacing already in).
I pre-washed it.
Success for all!
All the lovely bags!
I forgot to mention: I forgot to sew the lining in. Showed the instructor. The way she resolved it was I had to sew one side using the machine and slip stitch the other side. Thankfully, I learned how to hand sew as a little/big girl. :-). Thanks for stopping by!
Hi there! I purposely waited to share this one...I went to the Garment District yesterday (9/21). I hesitated because the last time I was suppose to go (April), an injury befell me and I just simply was in too bad of shape to go. This time, I went with a local meetup.com group (The Sewing Society). Here's a sneak peak. These were taken with my phone; the rest are uploading from my digital camera so they may take a minute. :-)
Sew.... I started this skirt, but as you can see, it's still in the works. :-). Since this pic, everything's been cut, now just waiting to carve some time out to sew everything together. This weekend's a wash, so I'll try & squeeze some time in during the weekday.
I'm finally going to get around to at least cutting out one of these views for the skirt this weekend. Got this about 3 months ago, but never started. :-) I'll keep you posted. Happy sewing & enjoy the long weekend! :-)PS: Yes, I know it's a summer-ish pattern, however, I'm still gonna do this anyway and get a couple days wear out of it. :-)
