So much to say--so many pics to share (there all uploaded) just not enough time! I am so thankful for a long holiday weekend. The weather sort of flipped on us on this side--got (and is) a little chilly! In fact, I've got the heat on as I write!

Anyway, I took advantage of the the fabric sale at G Street. Took an extended lunch break. Every Friday around 11:30 a.m., they get a truck load of assorted fabrics: $2.99 a yard! Plus I had a coupon I was able to use PLUS some left over cash from an unused gift certificate. :-)

So, the break away was getting there while the fabric was still being hauled off the truck, the take away is below:
Love the shopping cart--I needed it (that little basket just didn't make the cut!)
 Nice :-)

Knits...if not now, when?

G Street Fabrics NOW, this was just on my lunch break today. After work, went to Hancock's. Ya gotta come back this weekend to see those goodies. :-) See ya.

Casual Day: A CASUALTY IN THE WORKPLACE and everywhere!

I've been meaning to mention this for quite some time, however Erica B's recent post. really settled it.

If you haven't taken a peek, the link is above. This is sort of sewing related. A few months back, started researching Home Economics as it relates to sewing and found this link from Cornell University (you vintage lovers--enjoy!)

There are various tabs to read and MANY sewing tips that are applicable today.

However, my focus is on how these students/women are dressed. OK-its Cornell, however given this was taken a few decades back, look at how neat and presentable they are dressed.

Do they look like bums? Do they look like Raggedy Ann and Rag Dolls? NO.

So like Erica and so many bloggers that sounded off on her blog, I refuse to give in to casual anything in the workplace!

Today is Thursday--folk winding down for the long weekend. Here's what I wore to work. I WISH I could say I made it...but I'm not that good (LOL) least not yet. :-).

Sorry-unable to rotate (taken from phone)

Anyway, I hope you get this gist. If you one doesn't stand up for something, you'll fall for anything.
Until next time, -JC  :-)

What I'm working on....ALOT!

Hi Everyone! First off, I haven't forgotten the book review I promised a couple of weeks back. Been under the weather for past couple of weeks, job training (long commute) this past week. Trying to catch up and recover this weekend.

I started a maxi skirt from MimiG.  Already cut the fabric out, now need to finish it off-so that's why I gotta roll out now!

Here's a pic of the draft. I have to use a cutting board cause my table isn't large enough. It's all good.

Also have some pics from a few fabric stores I dropped by earlier this week. Chat later.

Regrettably, got injured a couple of days before and couldn't travel.

I was hoping to have some pics up for you right about now.  Maybe next time. :-)  :-(
