99% done

Completed a lined drawstring back, but (unfortunately), the pictures aren't the best! My camera is on the blink because the pictures came out blurry! Now the lens won't open so I may have to bury the camera.  I just need to put my handle through the casing. :-)

Anyway, I'm going to post what I  have. :-): SO SORRY FOR BLURRED PICS!

Back again: WHY my favs in NYC are just that!

Hello! So you thought I forgot?! Remember "Reflecting the Favs" and I told you I'd let you know WHY each one are my favs?

I'll start in the order that I wrote them....not that one is better than the other :-).

PARON FABRICS: I love Paron's and if I could, I'd go there ALL THE TIME. Why?
1) Supurb customer service. They actually show you different fabrics and explain the content. For me, this "hand holding" is good. A more seasoned sewer may not need this.

2) Very friendly

3) Very reasonable prices and LOTS of sales.

4) Fabric swatches.

1) Friendly.

2) Customer Service.

3) Fabric swatches.

1) Friendly

2) Customer Service

3) Fabric swatches.

Moods is a lot larger, Fabrics For Less, like a matchbox, but you'll make it around :-) Parons' good all the way around.

Fun and "FORGIVING" Jean purse tutorial !

OK. Back to "Reflecting on my Favs" a little later. :-). Over the weekend, found this sweet jean purse tutorial on youtube : Jean Purse.  I used a pair of khaki pants that I happened on. I modified/deviated slightly from the tutorial. Since me and belts don't get along. :-), I used the leg part of the pants to create the straps. I also used my rotary cutter for the hard places and fabric scissors.
Khaki's were probably originally fitted for a kid
Cutter and scissors ready (who said rotary cutters are just for quilters?! I love mine!
 Back side
I used an un-sharpened pencil to pull it all together. :-)

 Front side
 Thumbs up! Yippie!

Reflecting on some favs

We're coming to that time of year where over the next 2-3 weeks, many will be reflecting, remembering, etc. WHY WAIT UNTIL THE END OF DECEMBER OR EARLY JANUARY?! :-).

Over the past month or so, I've been thinking about my favorite stores in the Garment District. I had two visits this year within three weeks apart (never done)

But before we go there, here's a couple of pics. One of the "Big Button," the other from a visit a few years back:

OK, NOW, here are three of my favorites (not in any particular order):

1) Paron's Fabrics
2) Fabrics For Less
3) Moods Fabrics

NOW, because it's late and I'm sleepy, I'll come back soon with WHY these are my favs and more!! :-).
Bye for now.
